King’s Hawaiian Bread Digital Rewards

How do you feel about King’s Hawaiian Bread?  We love it.  Sweet Bread (not sweetbreads!) is one of my childhood Hawaiian memories.  Since I haven’t lived in Hawaii since I was 11 years old, I went for many years without enjoying this treat. Imagine my delight when King’s products became available  in our stores in small town Wisconsin.  I introduced this taste sensation to my family, and we’re all happy to have access to King’s Hawaiian Bread whenever the mood strikes.
Some time ago I “liked” King’s Hawaiian Bread on Facebook, and I’ve been getting their status updates.  They posted a comment looking for bloggers to take part in announcing a new rewards program, so that’s what this post is all about, and at the end I’m going to include a recipe using  King’s Hawaiian  Bread!  You can find lots of good recipes on their website.
I explored the Rewards program website, and it looks like fun!

Online program gives fans the opportunity to win King’s Hawaiian bread for year, earn badges to showcase their love of the product, and play Hawaiian-themed family games.

Now for the recipe.   This appetizer is delicious.  Fresh and bright.  There is no sugar added to the fruit salsa so with the added lime juice it is tart and tasty.  Putting it on the King’s Hawaiian Bread toasts adds just enough sweetness to every bite.  I took this recipe from their website.  One small note about the recipe as written on the website.  It doesn’t mention what to do with the olive oil.  I used it to brush onto the bread before toasting.

6 King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Olive Oil
I mango, diced
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1 tsp minced jalapeno pepper
1 avocado, diced
juice of 1 lime
Trim off dome of each roll then cut horizontally into 4 equal layers.   Brush with olive oil.  Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes or until crisp and brown.  Combine the remaining ingredients and refrigerate until ready to use.  To serve, spoon about 1 tbsp salsa on each toasted bread square.  Serve immediately.
